Orc Samurai

This is my painting submission for a recent design challenge. Whereby I was to paint a fantasy 'Orc' in the style/inspired by a traditional Japanese theme. It was an interesting idea (I had a lot more I wanted to do with it) but there was a time-limit to this challenge. Maybe I will revisit this later . 

Research is always a lot of fun for me. With this painting I looked (briefly) in to Samurai 'Mempo' designs and the traditional Japanese face-paint, Kumadori. Using the latter as a sort of 'war-paint' on the Orc.
